Matala Waterfall Pond Pump Reviews

It doesn't matter whether you have a large concrete pond or a pvc liner pond you will need a pond pump of some description. A pond pump is the heart and soul of any outdoor fish pond or indoor fish pond for that matter.

In general pond pumps for small to medium sized ponds tend to be submersible pond pumps i.e. they can be placed in the pond and are fully waterproof. In fact they are water cooled in many instances by the pond water itself. They require very little installation effort. Usually all you need to do is place the unit on a brick or two on the pond floor. This helps to prevent the pump from sucking up pond debris off the pond floor.

Submersible pumps are often hidden out of sight within a pond skimmer filter. In this application they usually supply a waterfall type filter as it flows back to the pond providing aeration and water circulation.

The submersible pump may be pulled from the water occasionally to clean its pre-filter or screen.

Submersible pond pumps are quieter running than the bigger and more powerful external pond pumps. And because they are below water level or hidden within a skimmer filter box they do not ruin the look or feel of the pond aesthetics.
